Who is responsible for your data

elHosting is a trading name of MSAHA LTD.

MSAHA LTD is registered in England and Wales under company number 17417482.

Registered office: 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom.

MSAHA LTD is the data controller for personal data collected through elHosting. For anything in this policy, including a request about your own data, write to contact@elhosting.com.

What we collect

We collect the following through the account, billing, support and service functions of the site.

Account details

Your first and last name, email address, and the company name, address, city, state, postcode, country and phone number entered when creating an account.

Billing records

When you place an order or receive an invoice, we record the order, the invoice and the related billing information.

Support correspondence

Tickets and emails you send us, and our replies.

Service records

Which services are yours, their configuration and their status.

IP addresses

Recorded when you create an account, place an order, open a support ticket and when you sign in, and in our internal activity and administrator logs. Used for security, fraud prevention and investigating abuse.

What you have to give us

Some of this is not optional. The fields marked as required when we ask for this information are necessary for us to create and administer your account or service — without them we cannot open an account, take an order, or provide a service.

What we do not do

We do not currently use analytics or advertising trackers. This site embeds no third-party content — the fonts are served from our own servers rather than fetched from Google as you browse — and our billing system runs no CAPTCHA service, so nothing about your visit is sent to one.

The server running our billing system keeps no web access log, so ordinary page requests are not recorded there. The IP addresses described above are recorded by the billing application against specific events — signing up, ordering, opening a ticket, signing in — rather than against every page you look at.

Payment details

No payment method is currently available on this site, and we do not currently collect payment card numbers. This policy will be updated when that changes.

Why we are allowed to hold it

To perform our contract with you — creating your account, providing the service, billing you and answering support requests.
To meet legal obligations — chiefly keeping accounting and tax records for the period the law requires.
Our legitimate interests in keeping the platform secure, preventing fraud and investigating abuse, where those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.

Who else sees it

We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing. It reaches these providers only because they run part of the service:

Hetzner

Hosts our servers in Falkenstein, Germany. The database and file storage holding your account, billing, support and service records are on those servers.

Resend

Provides our outbound email delivery service. Processes data in the United States.

Hostinger

Receives email sent to our contact address.

We may also disclose data where the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.

Cookies

These marketing pages set no cookies. The client area of our billing system sets a single session cookie, created on your first visit rather than only once you sign in, used for session, security and ordering functionality. It is marked Secure and HttpOnly.

We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.

Data leaving the UK

Our servers are in Germany. Our email provider processes data in the United States, so email we send you is processed there.

Resend

EU Standard Contractual Clauses as amended by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, incorporated through their Data Processing Addendum.

How long we keep it

We do not currently have automated deletion configured, so what follows is the basis on which we keep things rather than a schedule that runs by itself.

Account and service records

While your account or service is active, and afterwards for as long as the records are reasonably needed to resolve outstanding account, contractual, billing or dispute matters.

Billing records

For the periods required by applicable UK company, accounting and tax law, including after an account closes.

Support and security records

Including the IP addresses described above — for as long as they are reasonably needed to handle the issue they relate to, investigate abuse, protect the service, or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Where you ask us to delete personal data we will consider the request under applicable data protection law, and tell you if there is a reason we have to keep some of it.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you may ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict or stop certain processing, or ask for it in a portable form. Write to contact@elhosting.com and we will respond within the statutory period.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We would rather you told us first so we can put it right.

Changes

When this policy changes we update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we handle your data we will tell account holders directly rather than relying on you to notice.
